FAQ

Common questions

How do I shorten a URL in Chrome with ClickDash?

Install the extension, open the side panel from the toolbar, paste an API key from your ClickDash account, and the current tab URL is ready to shorten. You can also press ⌘⇧L (Ctrl+Shift+L on Windows) to shorten the current tab without opening the panel.

Is the extension free?

Yes. The extension is free to install and works on ClickDash's free plan (50 links/month). Upgrade to Pro for unlimited links, custom slugs, branded domains, and in-extension editing.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on a Pro plan. Add and verify a custom domain in your ClickDash settings, then pick it from the domain dropdown in the extension.

Does the extension track my browsing?

No. The extension only accesses a URL when you explicitly shorten one — toolbar, shortcut, or right-click. Your API key is stored locally in chrome.storage.local. Nothing else is sent anywhere.

What browsers does it support?

Any Chromium-based browser that supports Manifest V3 — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera, Vivaldi. Firefox is not supported yet.

Ready to shorten from Chrome?

Free to install. Free plan included. Pro unlocks custom slugs, branded domains, and unlimited links.
